WHAT WE BELIEVE
At Lightwell, we believe that what we nourish thrives, and what we neglect atrophies.
We believe that a society that thrives because of its work, rather than in spite of it, is possible.
We believe that justice and equity are actions to be woven into work policies, practices, positions, and postures.
We believe the most effective leaders at work are historical stewards.
We believe that responsible inquiry and active listening can transform work.
We believe that rest and work must co-exist.
WHAT WE ACKNOWLEDGE
Lightwell is an organization based in the present day United States of America. We recognize the lives of the original and early stewards of the vast lands, waterways, and infrastructure that comprise the spaces we now inhabit. We seek to learn about the Native American tribes, the enslaved people of the African diaspora, and the conditions that led to colonization in its many forms. We recognize the many families, communities, and societies who’ve long been erased in the process of the creation of the present day United States of America.
As an organization and ecosystem within a web of political, economic, justice, social, and environmental systems, we acknowledge our dual responsibility to shift and be shifted by our work.
